I’ve been used to right-click the Excel icon, and then select the last file I was working on from the list. I’ve tried to open excel, select the file, close excel, and right-click the icon – still not working. I click on them and nothing happens. I’ve tried removing them and re-pinning, but the only shortcut that works is the File Explorer one.

Is this a known bug or just on my Windows 10 install?? As I said, all jump lists are working apart from the File Explorer ones, which are pinned on the taskbar File Explorer icon. I ran both windows update there were 3 updates , plus system file checker from the command prompt which found a corrupt file, which it corrected. I rebooted just to be sure , unpinned the jump list shortcuts, put one back, still the same The only one that works correctly is the File Explorer one.

Incidentally I also looked at the Start Menu under File Explorer and the pattern is the same, none of the recently used folders under File Explorer only work. Anyone else have this issue. Only bug found so far, so, it’s not the end of the world, but annoying. Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. Thanks for your feedback. I copied the following instructions from Windows Jump Lists make a return to the Start Menu at winbeta.

Eventually, Visual Studio now appears to have a Recent section in its jump list on the task bar. Edge does not appear to have a Recent or Frequent section though.

Shouldn’t it IE has Frequent and Tasks sections? In Win 8. This is more like a beta than an official release for me. The only Jump List options in Windows 10 at the moment is to show recently opened items on Jump Lists or not So some imbecile at Microsoft decided they didn’t want users choosing how many items we need displayed in our Jump Lists.

Very frustrating as I exclusively used JLs to navigate my only used folders! Instead they implemented “Quick Access” in Explorer window which I find terribly stupid. I have now tried several Windows 10 installs, and I can eventually get the Recent section of the jump lists working by doing the following. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community.

Search the community and support articles Windows Windows 10 Search Community member. After the upgrade, this list is not displayed anymore I’ve tried to open excel, select the file, close excel, and right-click the icon – still not working.

I am having this problem too. The relevant bits of the article are In reply to StevenMuster’s post on July 30, In reply to brdavis9’s post on August 1, Thanks – but that is to enable Jump LIsts. They are already enabled but the new pinned jump lists just for the File Explorer on the taskbar do not work. All the others work fine. I agree – Quick Access works fine, but that was not the point of my post.

Purely jump lists on the taskbar for File Explorer is what I need. Thanks though. Explorer has a Pinned and Frequent section, but I don’t see a Recent section.

Maybe they take a while to take effect after an upgrade? I’m having same issue. Please fix it. In reply to bigtlb’s post on August 2, After giving it more thought, I think that I may have misstated the problem. I think my problem is that there is no Recent Files list in Explorer.

I’m not sure whether or not this is related to Jump Lists. I typically navigate to “Recent Files” in Explorer, but that is no longer there. I’m not sure whether that feature was associated with jump lists or not. Either way, “Quick Access” as it comes configured does not do the trick. This site in other languages x.
